Joe Keery honours friendship with co-star Charlie Heaton in new song

Joe Keery paid heartfelt tribute to his Stranger Issues co-star Charlie Heaton in his upcoming album The Crux soundtrack, Charlie’s Backyard.
The actor and singer revealed the inspiration that struck him to jot down the tune throughout a Zoom interview with the Leisure Weekly.
“I suppose a part of attempting to be as sincere as I might, was realising that I might use these songs to sing in regards to the folks that I like in my life, and to memorialise these instances that I am experiencing,” he mentioned.
“And so it simply type of happened.”
The gleeful quantity originated through the time when Keery shared a yard with Heaton and his long-time girlfriend and co-star Natalia Dyer as they had been filming the Netflix collection in Atlanta.
“Charlie and Natalia lived collectively, and I lived with a good friend, and our backyards touched,” he shared, including that he usually noticed Heaton busy in backyard chores.
The tune came about when Heaton and Dyer the place out on a stroll with their canine and Keery requested them if he can play their piano.
“‘Hey, can I play your piano whilst you’re gone?’ ‘Positive.’ [I replied,] ‘Okay, lock up,'” he narrated. “So, this tune simply comes out. Charlie and Natalia come again, and I say, ‘Hey, pay attention, I bought this tune!'”
He continued, “It is one in every of my favourites now, simply because the influences are very clear. It is the Beatles, however [Paul] McCartney particularly, and ELO [Electric Light Orchestra].”
Keery gushed, “It is an homage to my nice good friend and my time in Atlanta. So I get an actual kick out of listening to that tune.”
The singer’s upcoming file, The Crux is slated for launch on April 4th, 2025.
